Guntur Inner Ring Road for new capital

With the new Seemandhra capital likely to come up in the vicinity of Guntur, VGT Urban Development Authority officials are planning an Inner Ring Road to ease traffic. Such an Inner Ring Road is also necessitated by the passage of Kolkata-Chennai highway through Guntur. But officials are facing a huge problem as farmers are not ready to give their lands. The ring road is planned from Perecherla to Auto Nagar via JKC college. A budget of Rs 20.38 crores has been earmarked for the road. VUDA chairman Srinivas Reddy's efforts to convince farmers has proved useful so far.
