Karunanidhi to Modi: Focus on Development, not Hindi

DMK chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has shot off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Center's move to impose Hindi against the wishes of non-Hindi speakers. Karunanidhi's letter was prompted by a recent circular to all government departments and bureaucrats shall use Hindi for their official Social media accounts and have all correspondence in Hindi from now onwards. The DMK chief saw this as effort to see all non-Hindi speakers as second-class citizens. History has recorded anti-Hindi agitations, he said. Karuna wanted Modi to focus on development, not Hindi.
