Vijayawada is being propagated as the best choice for the AP capital but at the same time the Geological survey of India is saying that Vijayawada is also prone to earthquakes as it is in the seismic zone No -3 . The GSI basing on its study announced that there 26 earthquake prone regions in 300 Kms radius of Vijayawada . Due to this finding of the GSI the chances of Vijayawada becoming the AP capital are diminished .
