Vijayawada is going to be Ad-Hoc Capital of Andhra Pradesh until the mission of building a new capital gets accomplished. AP Government is keen on using Medha Tower near Gannavaram airport as the temporary secretariat.
Officials say, Medha Towers have all the necessary infrastructure required for Secretariat and choosing it as AP Secretariat for time being will make the job much easier. Medha IT Park which is spread across 30 acres is much bigger in area than the secretariat in Hyderabad. Even though 2 lakh sq ft of space is available for using in Medha IT Park, IT Firms have been making use of only 20,000 sq ft. The vast vacant land also gives an option of building 4-5 large establishments. The fact that its just 30 km away from Gannavaram airport and located just beside National Highway 5 is an added advantage.
