Officials papers of Sports ministry during the reign of UPA government has been made public as the 'Headlines Today' accessed it. The official papers show that ex sport minister Jitendra Singh has recommented the name of Indian Hockey player Dhyan Chand for prestigious Bharat Ratna in the year 2013.The same was acknowledged by then PM Manmohan Singh after nine days and internal note was prepared in the PMO office. But soon after this, Sachin Tendulkar's name was proposed ignoring the case of Dhyan Chand.
